A: Because at the moment, if anyone is fortunate enough to be able to access the internet, there is NO non-profit (or rather, net-profit-for-non-profit re distributor) running a search engine!!
(NOR is there one single directory where everyone can access the wealth of knowledge which has been acquired by The Third Sector.)

According to their table, and the google example based on their income (in 2006!!) - WE could quite simply manage to resolve this budgetary requirement in a matter of stages – e.g. water & sanitation for all could easily be resolved in just over 1 year!!!!!!!

SOLUTION 2:
Problem:
Anyone with an innovative solution or invention is currently facing thousands of pounds to get their design through the patency process – which takes YEARS to establish. Most 'normal' people find it too hard to get through the process, and give up in the early years.
Often, inventors who manage to finally get their designs patented, then have to market it themselves and also, often, get fleeced by the commercial manufacturer who takes their design/s for a minimal amount, and MAXIMISES their own profit. The manufacturer makes BILLIONS in profits, the inventor or designer just about covers their original costs, and gets a small bonus.
The product is manufactured in the West and exported across the world. Its wrapped in plastic, polystyrene or tin, and the rubbish is put in the bin – along with the product when the consumer has got bored with it, or it breaks a month after the warranty runs out. (Again, the consumer has not been told how many children were employed in its manufacture at a wage guaranteed to keep entire families desperate for the odd penny of wage - nor how much oil was used – or wasted – in that product's manufacture.)
The Ark Portal of Innovations (TAPOI) – Tapoi is also Maori for tourism, bringing innovation together with participatory eco-tourism, and in true Maori symbolism, respect for all visitors in equal to the visitor's respect for their hosts.
Starting with the Innovations side of Ark's concept on participatory eco-tourism:
1 Anyone with an invention or innovative solution needs a window (portal) to show their design, and an agent to promote it for them.
E.G. A school team of pupils could come up with a wooden solar powered potato peeler.
B. It could be shown online on TAPOI for the CARING Ark members to provide the market research – who would like to buy one (= the manufacturing numbers are known)
C. It could be shown at 'Ark' sustainable community sites – with facilities for participatory Eco-Tourists & local visitors.
Dependent upon positive feedback, it will then:
Be offered for auction to the commercial elements forming 'The Ark Directory' & the winning bidder securing their purchase via a deposit paid – paying for DII + DIII
Research & development will be provided by the Open Source ED units listed in the Ark Directory
Marketing will be offered by the ethical marketing companies which care, & are listed in the Ark Directory if the manufacturer is in need of such
E. The manufacturer can buy a complete package, knowing their market (with orders already in place, R&D & marketing completed!) - the money from the transaction would be go to the school (or any other submitter), and a commission would be taken for Global Ark Projects, from which (again), net profits would add to the funds for re-distribution to benefit the global (Ark) community – e.g. the WHOLE third sector.
F. The product or service will again, be listed in the Ark directory, and commissions will (again) go to the cause of Global & Good!
G. Manufacture will be at the 'local & good' level wherever feasible, & distribution could quite simply be provided using the transport vessels which participatory eco-tourists use to visit the 'Ark' sustainable community living projects which are large enough to accommodate the full listing of this inclusive service – empowering those people who are currently excluded!
E.G. The Tree Ark Project – an exemplar site - a regenerative, sustainable community living project, providing:
Affordable naturally built (zero carbon) homes, to those willing to work on projects which offer land stewardship schemes (managing the biodiversity of their surroundings – guided by leading experts in the field, and ensuring that OUR companion species are kept at the levels needed by us ALL.)
1 Organic waste matter provides the fuel for energy in biomass generators (+*)
2 Water is harvested, (providing hydro-powered energy in the right location) (+*)
3 Coastal situation could create 'algae farming' – cleaning CO2 from the ocean AND providing oil from the harvested algae (many advocates) = community revenue (+*)
4 Either a community centre (cafe/restaurant serving locally grown organic food, internet cafe – education on site, gallery/shop – locally produced arts & crafts etc) or in combination with an ethical & environmental trading post – showrooms for such products as carbon-free kitchens – locally made (franchises), car showrooms – one of each of the most sustainable, ethical & carbon free designs – demonstration vehicles = car pool for the site community +/&/or of the eco-consultants networking together to provide these solutions on the site.
5 Community buildings AND showrooms/trading post roofs to be covered with photovoltaic cells (or planted, with alternative site power generators)
6 The surplus energy is then sold back to the mains grid – after supplying the local area with carbon free, renewable (low cost) energy
Participatory Eco-Tourism provides the revenue AND the workforce needed to create the generation on site (and helps to build the eco-homes for the community themselves – tied in with local colleges and advocates/teachers of natural building techniques)

Business incubation units on site, allowing the wider local community access to the equipment they need to start up without having to find the funds they need to buy their own equipment before they know whether they will have a marketable product – saving bankruptcy figures associated with the failure of small businesses.
E.G. Pedal powered pottery wheels & wood turning equipment. Hand looms, manual spinning wheels. Art Studio, local minerals/metal works, recycled glass – all fired using charcoal made through coppicing. (Site dependent, many other products can be made using a variety of materials, such as Willow, reeds & waste materials.)
We end up with a range of tailor-made produce (+ products & innovations) to suit a discerning market of people who care.
(The permutations are endless, as each community will be formed of individuals with their own key skills, and therefore, there is no end to the options available. AN example of the potential permutations are shown on my spreadsheets/business plan.)
On site learning facilities will stem not just from the internet cafe and/or lecture room facilities – which will stream environmental & humanitarian problems & solutions, but via storytellers, guest speakers, musicians, artists, and visiting theatre companies. Earning on-site revenue through visitors.
(Again) – The net profits from the turnover will go back into Global Ark Projects for redistribution.
The Tree Ark Project community is formed of people of mixed ages, abilities & backgrounds, and (again) site dependent, will also offer affordable eco-homes to those of the local community with proven need of affordable housing – who share similar environmental & ethical concerns – who care.
A Participatory sustainable community living project such as this exemplar, could quite easily become the backbone (along with ALL other global regenerative & restoration projects) for a dedicated MAIN broadcasting station.

Currently, unless someone has access to the internet or Sky, there would be little idea of the global problems (and solutions) which are on ALL our tables.
If 'A' National Television channel were dedicated to environmental & humanitarian news, innovations, solutions, projects AND advertising to the 'Third Sector' solutions which WE ALL know of, then THE GENERAL PUBLIC would suddenly become aware of the stark reality which faces EVERY SINGLE LIVING THING ON THIS PLANET.
Why isn't there ONE dedicated radio channel (with local stations) ??
Why isn't there one single NATIONAL NEWSPAPER, printed on recycled material, using vegan/organic & sustainable ink – which ALSO lists the latest round of Third Sector NEWS???
Why doesn't any commercial broadcasting operation “WAKE UP” to exactly what the problems are?? AND dedicate itself to BROADCASTING both the news of those problems AND solutions?
Advertising of global solutions, products, services & innovations – WHICH ALSO PROVIDED TRANSPARENCY – instead of just product – adverts which showed ethical & sustainable manufacture detailing – with net-profit re-distribution (again) being a key ingredient of their service.
ERGO – IN ALL THINGS, EDUCATING, SHOWING & EMPOWERING ALL THOSE WHO CARE.

N.B. THE moment which the majority accepted that climate change was caused by human activity & that human's unsustainable lifestyle was depriving people of life – IT BECAME MURDER.
People's right to life was protected by law in the 1950's – the same decade which our eldest community member started to write & advocate the need to live sustainably. Now aged 93, Avril Fox is a veteran eco-author who has been denied her right to live in the sustainable manner of her choosing BECAUSE planning applications are STILL being refused, as they have ever since the 1950's & 60's.
UNLESS those who make the decisions actually start to listen to US ALL – WE will never be able to walk out of our doors – NO MATTER HOW VIABLE OUR SOLUTIONS ACTUALLY ARE!!
As a direct result of the lack of funding, my own marketing material has been limited by my own budget, and the amount of food and shoes which my own children could go without.
Please judge me not by the material of my promotion/s, nor by my gender – rather by the words which I am speaking, for my voice and my written word ARE my only options to offer you these solutions.

How Big Are Your Ripples?
If you have been watching scientists standing on the ice, animatedly waving their arms as they speak in a highly alarmed way about the ice thinning under their feet – at a rate far increased from their own analytical predictions – and been looking at your own children's innocent faces, knowing what fate is likely to befall them if you don't do something about it quickly, then please know that, arriving at this website is the key to the change you had been hoping to find.
It also stands to reason that this is a website not just for parents but for all generations. We should all recognise the enormity of the damage to this beautiful planet, its resources and all the companion species, which so many have taken for granted for so long; that each loss in the environmental chain has a cumulative “ripple effect” with potentially catastrophic outcomes.
The founding officers of Global Ark Projects all care about our environment – and those of us with children are INCREDIBLY alarmed at the predictions into the effects of climate change for the futures of our children.
We know that we need to open up the flood-gates and give everyone the option of living in a low-impacting manner. And we are also well-aware of the fact that climate change effects the future for EVERYONE, that many people concerned are not in a position to be able to afford to change their home or work environment.
Globally, rural economies are almost as fragile as their surrounding countryside – and the countryside is full of people who are concerned about their surroundings, many of whom would live in a self-sufficient manner if they could afford to do so.
The aim of our organisation, through our non-profit distributing structure, is to make sustainable, low-impact living an affordable and achievable global solution. We know that we need to speed up the processes, and that we need to tie in all those services, charities, organisations, groups, communities and individuals who are already either involved, or who wish to be involved, in the next stage of our humanitarian journey.
As a species, now billions in its own number in terms of population, if we were all to jump on this planet simultaneously, we would probably break it – and even if we didn't, we would almost certainly create a tidal wave the size of which we (thankfully) have never seen.
We all need to be aware of our own ripples and the level of impact of our own footsteps. We all need to walk very lightly upon this planet, now we are such an enormous species in terms of our size.
The dinosaurs didn't recognise their own weight or size – nor the significance of their footsteps – they were not able to evolve or become flexible enough to adapt at the required rate to suit their changing habitats or even move to where they needed in order to survive.
This planet will look after itself, it will heal itself of all parasites and balance itself as it heals the scars of our making. Earth will once again become a balanced, green planet, capable of supporting a phenomenal network of species, all dependent on each other in its ecology.
Whether we, as a human species, are going to be here in the next few million years when this amazing planet has recovered itself is down (in your own responsible part, your own conscience,) to YOU.
We all need to do what we can – as quickly as we can.
We need to launch the debate – we need to know how many people want to evolve, to grow, to become “grown-ups” and face our own responsibilities; we need to find out where we all want to go with this.
Each one of us is responsible for our own ripple effect. How big are your own ripples? How many people have you affected? How many trees have you knocked over by your footsteps?
How many people care? And can we really do this alone?
Can we really do this as billions of individuals and millions of individual concepts, or can we create a network that will help cover the world as a vast “green” blanket? Even as there may be individual concepts all geared to this common cause, as single blades of grass in a desert they have no strength, as millions or billions; it is our combined root system that stabilises the sand and creates areas where life may yet again be supported.
Help our evolution process, stop walking for a moment and sit down gently on the grassed lawns, while they are still here, to think about it all. Come and join the common cause with us all here, when you are ready, if not for ourselves, at least for all the children: consider the consequences if we get it “wrong”.
Connecting through the Global Ark Projects hub will fast-track the root networking systems, fast-track the search and the answers. Our website gives you the space to submit your own article or graphic; your membership gives you the chance to ask your own questions through our surveys and polls. We ALL need to consider ALL the options.
The only way to evolve as a race is to join the race, together.

As parents, looking at the scientific predictions of the effects of climate change - and at one news report after another showing flooding, drought, tsunami or earthquake, it has become clearly obvious that we need to start to pull together to give all children and future generations, the opportunity of living through our changing environment.
Pulling together in a co-operateve manner at times of crisis, not only allows us ways of sharing all our own knowledge and experience, but it also goes to show our strength in number.
Global Ark Projects has been founded to supply a platform for the options which as concerned parents, we all need to consider. Through our non-profit distribution, our ultimate aim is to provide children with the opportunity of A tomorrow.
Founded by members of “the public” at grass root level, for others in similar circumstance and opinion, and for all future generations, we are totally inclusive. Regardless of politics, faith or any other discriminating factor, we are open to all climatically aware and concerned people across the world, although until we have opened our visitor centres, access is unfortunately limited to those who can access us via the internet.
Our concern is humanitarian. Climate change has the potential to be THE biggest humanitarian catastrophe in this planet's history, and we want nothing more than to provide ways to safeguard not only our own children's future, but everyone else's', everywhere.
We can also clearly see that alternative forms of energy and heating are becoming available to the consumer, but many people are financially limited to the traditional forms of heating and power. There is a huge gulf between being concerned about the environment and being able to afford to do anything about living sustainably ourselves.
Global Ark Projects' aim is to help everyone who is climatically concerned wanting to live more sustainably, to be able to achieve their aims. Climate change is happening far too quickly for the existing, traditional wheels to keep up with, and we have put together a practical series of steps which will fast-track sustainable living, for everyone concerned.
Our feedback and survey forms are set up to be able to determine clearly, what everyone joining our membership is seeking personally by way of a sustainable or self-sufficient lifestyle – and our aim is to help you to achieve that – not by telling you how, but by working with you personally.
Your own membership will provide the means to help you find your own level of sustainability, and provide shopping channels which are only ethically geared.
As a consumer looking for ethical or environmental products and services, we condense your search and provide the feedback to help you choose.
As a supplier, company or organisation, we offer you the opportunity of listing your service or product in a directory specifically geared to your market.
Net funds from commissions will be re-distributed to help form sustainable community living projects. Many people globally are already suffering one environmental catastrophe after another, and millions are dying through either famine, drought, or flooding. We offer the practical means to help.
Once a suitable scale of operations has been reached, the site will morph into a full-blown search engine in conjunction with one of the main search engine providers:
Firstly, companies listing their products or service with us will show their own climatic and humanitarian concerns by their sponsored links, sales commissions and marketing. The profits derived through their own sales, becomes the funding for us to use as a non-profit distributing organisation, with humanitarian and climatic concerns.
Secondly, as well as helping to save people's valuable time trawling through all “other” resources by giving a catalogued and concentrated search. We will use the income derived through your own purchases through this website, to help you to live in a self-sufficient, sustainable and/or low-impacting manner.
Whether you are hoping to adapt your existing building/s to cope with the predicted climate changes, or whether you actually want to live in a completely low-impacting and alternative manner, we will have the resources to help you through your own active support.
The way this works is simple;
One example is that the broadband service provider which the founder has used for many years, prides itself both on its carbon neutral philosophy, and on being the most sustainable internet service provider in the UK.
This multi-award winning company provides a reliable internet service with full technical support services. Although many people may not have heard of them, they offer us a sponsored link which, when converted into a new contract by our membership, can pay Global Ark Projects up to £80 – dependant upon the type of service contract.
For the purpose of this one company, as an example of how we can so simply offer you the sustainable supporting services you are hoping to find; if 50,000 climatically concerned people went through this website to switch their service providers, this would give us a gross income of up to £4 million!! (And 1 million people switching over to use this sustainable internet service provider = circa £80,000,000 – and this figure is just the potential turnover from ONE service provider!)
Obviously, all who become members of this organisation, who continue to come back again and again to use this website to gain access to such services and products, equate to the possibility of potentially huge numbers of people who we will then be able to help live sustainably – and create a more ethical, balanced economy in the process.
We will also offer the potential to list reviews of the products and services – and of the service of the suppliers – from existing users and customers.
Our services will include links with existing sustainable communities and other end users happy to share their own findings of the services and reliability of those renewable energy providers which we will be listing.
Many people are considering the alternatives, and are finding the decisions in the investment in the initial additional outlay difficult to quantify. Obviously there is a vast difference between purchasing your own renewable and passive energy components, and installation of the basic features which will allow you to use the more traditional mains suppliers.
What helps to make these complicated decisions easier, is the members of the public letting others know of the good, or the bad - of the pitfalls, and the benefits.
Some companies work purely on maximising their profits at the expense of others – only yesterday (18th July 2009), we heard of a solar panel supplier who fraudulently advertised “a complete kit” for a set cost. Seemingly a reputable solar panel supplier, our contact was shocked to find that the “complete” kit, consisted solely of the pump assembly. There was no solar panel at all!! - Even though this was clearly shown on the suppliers website.
Such incidents and fraudulent practices are not to be condoned. Especially when we are all looking to find viable, sustainable alternatives, in a “new” market area.
We will provide you, as our concerned readership, with somewhere to list your own projects – and any personal findings such as that listed above.
We will also provide you with the opportunity of asking your own questions, and will post further surveys and polls on our main website for other members to give their own feedback.

We also aim to show others what the effects of climate change are going to be. Our own research in the formation of our projects and proposals is listed for you to follow too – and at all times, we will aim to operate with clear transparency, for everyone, everywhere.
Knowing that there are many more people who are just starting to look at the scientific findings and predictions, as soon as possible, we will stream the latest research through one or more of the ships which form our “Ark Flotilla”.
The initiation to all our projects and services, is your membership, and the completion of our feedback/survey form. As someone who already knows what the future holds, we know that your combined voice with our organisation, is the impetus which will propel our ship, and cut a line through the traditional obstacles which have continued to prevent our move into a “greener” and more ethically balanced future.

We, the undersigned, being the founding officers of Global Ark Projects & The Tree Ark Project, demand our democratic right to host THE debate.
We are totally inclusive and without prejudice, the debate is open to all concerned, regardless of:
Geography, race, colour, age, ability, religion, faith or other philosophy, gender or sexuality, geography or ethnicity, class, politics or other.
The scientists' evidence is now unequivocal: Right now, 10% of all species are facing extinction due to climate change & lack of natural habitat. Right now, millions of people are suffering and dying as the direct result of climate change. By the turn of this century – in ninety years – our own children's lifetimes, the global temperatures will rise to a level unseen on this planet for 2,000,000 years. 33% of all species of life on this planet will be gone from the face of the Earth by C2100. The loss of polar ice caps will change the Earth's weight distribution between land to water, which will result in an increase in earthquakes and volcanoes. Solar winters will occur due to the levels of volcanic plume. Huge areas of land will be engulfed by the sea. A new ice age will dawn.
This will all happen in our children's lifetimes.
It is no longer a question of “IF”, it is now a question of “WHEN”. Our only option is to slow the process to give our children the opportunity of A tomorrow – and to educate them to give them the means to survive within the arid, scorched landscape they will be left with.
As a non-profit distributing organisation that prides itself in its ethical, transparent & fair-traded operations, we recognise that there are several organisations with similar visions to our own, but what we are asking is that we all join our energies through the network we have opened as the hub which is www.GlobalArkProjects.com.
